Photo Diary: Meals in Cinque Terre I

Lightly fried mini calamari, with tomatoes.
Bruschetta with tomato salsa and goat cheese.
Simple Penne in Bolognese sauce.
Traditional Cinque Terre Pasta, Trofie, in Pesto sauce.

We really enjoyed the Trofie and the Bruschetta, the other two were rather lacking in taste! This small cafe is by the cove in Vernazza. We had a nice cold beer with our first lunch!

Where we had our first dinner, and one of our best meals in Italy.
Sweetest Parma Ham and Melon, that simply melt in your mouth.
Calamari, fried to perfection.

One of the best pasta dishes I have ever tasted. It was filled with the fresh catch of the day, perfectly seasoned and goes so well with the wine we had.
Pricey but fantastic wine made from the local region.
Dark chocolate molten cake, with tropical fruit. After the appetisers and main courses, the dessert fell a little short of expectations. It still remains one of my favourite meals in Europe/Italy ever.

This small cosy restaurant can be found right by the train station in Vernazza. You do not get the amazing view of the sea, but as you dine, you see the ambling crowds die down and filter away from the street and the windows and street lamps lighting up up along the buildings. The service is impeccable and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Cinque Terre.
