Residanz Palace is the former royal palace of Bavarian monarchs, showcasing architecture decorations and styles from the neoclassical epoch. Apart from furniture, paintings and sculptures, there are also frescos, tapestries, clocks, porcelain and other miscellaneous collections depicting the baroque era. I didn’t include much photos of the exhibition as the beauty and grandeur of the apartments can only truly be appreciated in person. I do particularly love the room in baby blue satin. The beds are awfully short in length and tall in height. Reminds me of a stunted Princess and the Pea. I can’t imagine living in a house like that though. A gold plated sewing table from the maids room could buy me my walk in wardrobe. Ah, such dreams.
When we visited the palace, part of its exterior was under repairs and they very thoughtfully covered up the construction work with a cloth depicting what the palace would look like in its full glory. I am rather amused by the peeking royals though.
