Jamie’s Italian in Bath

Our dinner in Bath! We managed to beat the crowd by arriving about 5 minutes before everyone else; when the restaurant started filling out, waiting times could get up to 90 minutes long!

Ordered Black Angelspaghetti; Squid ink pasta, British scallops, garlic, chilli, anchovies, wine, parsley & capers. Very light on the palette, but still savory enough to leave a lingering taste in your mouth!

Braised British Shin of Beef; Cooked overnight with sweet, sticky onions & balsamic vinegar, served with oozy Parmesan polenta. So so tender, it just melts away in your mouth.

Wild Rabbit Tagliolini; Slow-cooked ragù with garlic & herbs, mascarpone & Amalfi lemon. This was really yummy, the lemon made it refreshing and immensely tasty.

Sianne ordered the Ji Warm Brownie; Chocolate, raspberry & amaretto brownie with vanilla ice cream. It is as good as it looks, warm fudgey brownies and vanilla ice cream never goes wrong. The raspberries add a lovely fruity sweetness to the final taste. A lovely ending to the evening and the fantastic road trip.

I definitely enjoyed the food, one of the better Italian meals I have had. However, my hopes were high for this restaurant, so I guess the food was good but my expectations were not exceeded 🙂
